Giving users too many customization options rarely works. Custom dashboard fonts, emoji variants, theme settings - takes forever to build, ruins experience, still can’t please everyone. Less choice often works better. (exceptions exist, but most products overdo it)

they teach you to be obedient as a kid, then expect you to be creative and take initiative as an adult. turns out disobedient kids don’t launch startups or question systems - they just fill spreadsheets
