This is Mavis! She's an artificer I'm playing in a sea-based ttrpg campaign.
She's ridiculously passionate about creating, and although a lot's happened to dampen her spark she's still burning bright and getting brighter everyday! (Thanks to some newfound and reunited friends)

She's super passionate when it comes to creating, so it was tough deciding between tools or this, but this means a lot more to her than basic tools.
(Technically Project Wayfinder isn't done yet but it's a goal now that she's reconciling with her best friend, so it could do more I'm just not sure))

(In case it wasn't clear, the item is the pendant-choker/tiny bird)

Eventually she made this into a controller for a project she'd worked on with her dad before he died called "Project Wayfinder", a smol mechanical-looking magic bird that was meant to help the two girls find their way whenever things were looking bleak, whether it be to each other or just back home.

During the time the best friend was there however, they had matching necklaces made in the form of a compass pendant with a blue bioluminescent stone inside it. Unfortunately the original chain broke and she had to make something new for it, so now it's attached to a choker.

Unfortunately, her dad passed away when she was very young but she was supported through the hard times by her best friend Josie. That best friend eventually left with some shady folks and she was left alone, eventually leaving the island herself as well.
