yeah, it's frustrating. it feels like even the most understanding nt people just don't understand the full extent of things, and it's hard to get them to move past "so why don't you just do better" lmao. especially when someone's like "i wish i had adhd that seems fun" uh! it's not! but ty ig!

yeah, it feels so hard to convey to people the difference between having a dark night where you contemplated your existence, and the exhaustion of constant suicidal ideation for every waking moment, especially when they're suspicious of medication. like, so imagine where i'm at to choose medication!

if it gives any context to what little information i have rn, i kind of just did some brief googling using some of michael horn’s yt videos as a jumping off point. i’m guessing there’s still plenty i don’t fully understand, but he definitely helped make linux look very palatable lol

to be honest with you though, if suddenly win10 went catatonic and i had to decide, i’d still go figure out one of the linux distros, because overall it still looks like a way nicer experience than win11. change is just daunting sometimes lol

agh i can’t remember the names of anything… but i like to do a lot of screensharing and sometimes i’ll record something, and i feel that the current solution i’m aware of requiring going through an additional dialogue box for every new capture source would dissuade me from doing that stuff as often

oh also it's got a coiled cable which is really nice for if you don't sit still, but it does make them a bit impractical for using on the go. good luck on your search!!!!

i love my sony mdr-7506s. they've got a balanced frequency response, so if that's not ur preference dw about it, but i personally have never been uncomfortable wearing them for long periods of time, and they're built like a tank. really good for just sitting at a computer lol

bud, it’s fine to feel a sense of catharsis when one of the people responsible for making u miserable gets a taste of their own medicine. i personally don’t really relate to the feeling, but when situations are effecting people’s safety, sometimes the better option isn’t the perfect option

tbh yeah, but communicating well is hard!! that’s why most professionals aren’t great at talking about what they do and why we have a distinction for stuff like “science communicator,” so i try to think about that whenever i feel down about my ability to speak concisely lol

thank you! i’ve never understood how people can say “i don’t get it” as a way of, like, displaying moral victory or something. at some point kicking the tv whenever it isn’t working is just going to destroy it, and being mad because it didn’t work isn’t preserving any of your dignity
