A picture of "Herb", a stray who has chosen us to live with, and our couch to snooze on, which is all good since we got all those nasty tats cut out, a nice little vaccination, and a bunch of flea treatments. No longer the cold, wet, frozen, underweight, sorry little specimen we gave shelter to on those freezing nights we had a few months ago.

A black and white "cowcat" was photographed in front of an ongoing painting of her buddy. That photograph was composited with the same background as the painting she sits in front of, then made into this 40cm by 50cm acrylic painting on canvas. The foreground cowcat is the new rescue friend of the blue-eyed cat, after his first little calico friend in the painting on the wall died suddenly.

Three huge spheres, split into hemispheres, float over a countryside landscape, with the sea in the far distant background. A small group of rocks is placed to the left of the foreground. As with many Magrittes, the reproduction isn't helped by so many different photographs showing many variations of colour, and in some cases (like The Listening Room) Magritte himself produced more than one original. So; I just picked a photo I liked and jumped in with my acrylics. I remember thinking the foreground rocks were sheep in the low resolution web source I saw first. Luckily there were better images that showed the rocks with harsh shadows more clearly. Car dumped at Twelve Quays on The Mersey between Woodside and Seacome in Birkenhead, circa 2003. It's just a little mud encrusted. It'll buff out. 🤕 #abandoned #photography

Rene Magritte's "Muscles Of The Sky" reproduced in acrylics. A grey cloud covered sky is revealed by torn edges, and reaches down, appearing to stand on an Albertian pavement. This reproduction was painted using ordinary DIY vinyl silk interior white paint, Early Learning Canter children's black poster paint, a little artists yellow ochre, and some charcoal for the pavement lines. It is A2 in size, and painted on thick card.

The picture on the wall is of his bonded buddy who died about a year ago, and the next will be of his new buddy (Moofi) where she's sitting in front of this picture when it was being painted, so all three will be in it. Here's a crude mock-up. It's a fake setting for a real photo.😎
