I would say that getting rid of sorting equipment definitely made the service worse and less reliable but it shouldn’t make it insolvent.

That’s like saying roads should generate income. There are things that government is supposed to provide. Roads, bridges, national defense are what taxes are for. Ideally, the postal service could pay for itself. It’s not supposed to be provided by taxes. That’s why you pay for stamps.

This isn’t even true. Many wars have ended, just not all… and gasoline under $3 means everything that you have to drive to do or obtain is cheaper. I’m horrified by elected officials trying to subvert law & order and trying to incite unrest. DJT wasn’t calling for their executions; he was only pointing out what the law says - just like they were supposedly doing. I bet if this 200 yrs ago they WOULD be found guilty of treason and put to death!
