"The fog" is a combination of all of those dead trees decomposing, burned debris, floating around condensing water vapor and possibly changing the dew point. We've had some high winds recently; these particulates have been carried through the South East.

All of the trees and foliage are now pretty dead. Throw in the wind, it's probably being carried all over the South of the U.S..

Again - the *amount* of trees down is staggering, across an area the size of Atlanta. Particulates wafting about, water vapor condensing.

I started noticing I would sneeze after going outside about a week ago. My eyes, wife's watering in the mornings.

And the fog, lasting pretty long into the morning.

My point:

There is an unreal amount of mostly pine, oak trees

- decomposing
- being cut up
- being hauled/dumped
-being burned

as well as building debris, here in the CSRA (Central Savannah River Area)/Augusta Ga., North Augusta/Aiken S.C..

Some neighborhoods still look like logging camps. The sound of sirens the first 4 weeks slowly turned into the daily background noise of chainsaws somewhere nearby.

As people finally got some of their yards cleared, trees off their roofs, burning debris started.

The amount of trees, foliage destroyed by the hurricane is unreal. You can now see across town where I've never been able to see more than 50 yards before, because so many trees were downed.

Post Helene, piles of trees still in the streets in front of every other house. You literally can't look without seeing toppled trees.
