It's about trust, I think a large chunk of the population have little trust in farmers. They almost claim poverty, but evidence would suggest otherwise. A lack of transparency about a company like this one doesn't help. Come clean and they'll probably get more sympathy with their grievances.

Nope, all companies with Lloyd Baker linked dissolved, except one, while the DoB seems about right, company only formed in 2023.
November 27, 2025 at 12:40 PM
Can't seem to find Jon Baker or variations of Jonathan Baker that match on companies house.
November 27, 2025 at 10:42 AM
To be fair they don't look like they sell anything online, phone or in person only, which makes sense I suppose.
November 27, 2025 at 9:19 AM
True, but that's an expensive tractor he's driving, wouldn't that mean he had to pay VAT on it on not reclaim it? Also, should still have the company number on the website.

Bit fishy to say the least..... @danneidle.bsky.social

No VAT number etc on the website either, I think that's a legal requirement.
November 26, 2025 at 5:46 PM
Wonder what the actual company name is? can't find anything on companies house.
November 26, 2025 at 5:42 PM
I'm sure I'll get used to it...........then they'll change it again!
November 26, 2025 at 9:35 AM
The BBC weather app changed recently as well, same thing, it was fine the way it was before! You used to scroll across to get weather later in the day, coming days, now the same thing changes the location!
November 26, 2025 at 8:29 AM
Look on the bright side, at least you won't have to get up at 3am!

Also 18% of Iceland's population are foreign born. Worth pointing out too.
November 22, 2025 at 11:04 AM
Also Norway at 7.26, is that a Skandi top 5?
November 22, 2025 at 10:53 AM
Do Swiss banks still take gold deposits.......
November 17, 2025 at 11:12 AM
So basically little point in contributing more than 2k a year. Way to lose your voter base! Are they trying to get below 10% in the polls?
November 15, 2025 at 5:25 PM
So potentially another 20% as well? That's going to piss a lot of people off! All because they didn't want to do what they should have and put income tax up a percent or 2!
November 15, 2025 at 5:16 PM
Currently, any pension contributions go straight out before employer NI. So if this is introduced I'll pay 15% on any contributions above 2k? And what about tax relief, if that changes then I'll also pay extra tax? Sounds great! Think I'll be working part time.
November 15, 2025 at 5:06 PM
What could he do if the BBC were to pull out of the US?
November 15, 2025 at 4:52 PM
I'm struggling to understand that too. What's really the difference between employer contributions and salary sacrifice? I work through an umbrella company (a legit one, no dodgy stuff!) and am worried any pension contributions will be taxed.
November 15, 2025 at 4:46 PM
And where employer NI and apprenticeship levy (which I think is unfair for someone effectively self employed!) comes off. Personally I don't think total tax should ever be more than 50%, and with a fair taxation system doesn't need to be.
November 13, 2025 at 6:09 PM
I'm a tech contractor, working inside IR35. I can work fewer hours to avoid these cliff edges, if salary sacrifice for pension contributions is significantly reduced then I'll work even fewer hours. You have a good idea how it works when you are paid a gross hourly rate....
November 13, 2025 at 6:06 PM
You know how Germany had a reunification tax, we should have a new 2% Brexit tax.
November 4, 2025 at 7:19 AM
I'd just turned over from Bangers and Cash an' all. Rapidly switched back to the Ford Cortina estate.
