The best and most overdue sentence in this essay:
Why not forget the compromises and take an actual stand on some of these issues?
Municipal politicians stand for nothing. Everything is pandering to somebody. In that fashion real progress never happens.
Thanks.

This is a precursor to what people don’t yet understand. Trump cares nothing for voter support. He no longer needs it. Anybody thinking that the coup didn’t start years ago is going to get a shock. He’s cleaned out Justice; he’s cleaned out DHS and the FBI; and he’s working on the military. Wake up!

Correct. @mark-carney.bsky.social is a corporate ally. There’s nothing wrong with that if it is accompanied by actions to help individual Canadians and address carbon emissions and climate change. He is a demonstrated phony on the latter issues.

I’d admit his hold on government is tenuous, but this budget is the budget of a coward. It is not the budget of a man who believes we are facing an environmental crisis. A man of principle would have forced the opposition to vote against an emissions reduction/renewables supportive budget.

My first thought is that there are many possible causes and speculation isn’t helpful. Most aviation tragedies require simultaneous multiple failings.

Unclear how you justify ignoring climate change and renewables. You aren’t taking control of our future; you are ensuring it will be seriously impaired.
