Kinda. I didn‘t like the short chapters of my earlier fics so I try to keep them longer now. But I don’t split solely on word count. I also try to find the spots where a cut/break feels most natural if that makes sense?

I seriously never thought about that before. 🤔 But I‘m not writing in chapters anyway. I always split after I have a finished draft. 😅

I think I prefer chapters that are between 10-20k.

Oh, I didn’t know that. I‘ve never heard the term rose of Sharon. We use hibiscus here. I have them as bush in my garden but they are also common in smaller forms to keep them inside the house.
