I do think the footwear could be less basic. Maybe something like this boot from American designer Colleen Allen

Where do we go from here? Facts: when residents apply pressure, air quality improves. When we stop organizing, things go back to ‘normal’. This is a game of stamina, and persistence. Our life and activism must outlast their bottom line

@zedecksiew.bsky.social made some really cool drawings of us residents meeting with refinery management, including the door gifts - plastic water tumblers and succulent plants.

At least they didn’t give us *fire extinguishers*, like at the last meeting 🧯🧯🧯

Brian often makes me think about how Thich Nhat Hanh describes who can be relied on in society.

‘I don’t believe in the intellectuals very much’ - luv to be dragged by a zen master lol

I want to be like Brian - arguably, an intellectual who CAN be relied on, who shows up

Written by Brian Khow, a friend and comrade I met through a local branch of Parti Sosialis Malaysia. In our house we call Brian ‘Poot's Best Friend’, because he's the only stranger our anti-social cat, Poot, doesn't sprint away from 💨

Tastes like if rambutan and longan had a delicious baby

My favorite part of the cover art (by our dear friend Jun Kit) is this farting snail. In Malay, the word for snail is siput, and 'si' is a prefix used to call someone names, like si bodoh (dumbass), si pencuri (thief), etc. So si *poot* is a farter AND snail mwahahhaa
