It's having a source of dopamine hits and things to pass the time.

Look at my boys.

Doing the completely normal thing of returning to one of the tentpole panels of a manga about a Japanese highschool boys volleyball club to recalibrate and carry on.

Today, we mutter task focus. Today, we work.

Surprising absolutely no one including myself, I enjoy the Soulslike experience more when it is modded to be a Roguelike.

Elden Ring: Nightreign matches my cadence and tolerance, and I have been rewarded with my patience by beating my second boss 24 hours in.

I suppose 2025 is shaping up to be my "Fuck It, We Learn All The Ways To Make Art" arc.

My deck is clearly trying to tell me something and I have feelings about it.

The almighty calendar has decreed it and thus I must will it into existence.

It was a good break for a clearly liminal time that all of society should have collectively taken. But alas.

Capitalism.

Eve of an eve, and the machinations are starting in earnest.

I also realize I will never have enough whiteboards in my house.

One more box down. Five remain.

The shelving unit I purchased for this (four years ago) will probably not be able to fit the remaining comics, but we'll see.

If anyone wants a peak of a small section of my personal discord, I offer this.

I knew I was destined/doomed to stay in STL once I became a provel apologist, but my favorite pizza is still the thin crust from Ledo in the DMV

My streak of terrible car luck continues with October 2024 bringing "slow leak caused screw embedded in the tread" and I am just actively venting about it because internalize this energy is not productive.

For no particular reason with a series of small impetuses, I am starting a newsletter.

The first post goes live 24 hours from now.

And this is about the extent of mental energy I have for self promotion today.

I have lived here for a decade (or at least my heart has), and I am thankful, if not slightly bemused, that there are still things to discover and wonders to behold.

I don't write poetry much these days, but every so often I manage to find a spark that manages to remind me how the form helped me grow as a writer.

For the better, the last years of my life have been largely influenced by a video game about magic space zombies and an anime about a Japanese boys volleyball team.

And today, I'm thinking about the quote "To be truly strong, one must continually discard one's strength."

Unsure if I like knowing that I watch on average nearly 2hrs of YouTube videos a day, but now I know so... Huh.

Some days I'm convinced that the only reason I bought a record player was so I would have an excuse to buy vinyl, not to actually play it.

Last week, I was dead set on grinding out easy pinnacles to get the last piece of 2000 gear I needed. Today, I got it immediately after my first activity completion and that's just how it goes I suppose.

Thanks to *circumstances*, I ended up digging through some of my mom's old writing I found and rediscovered that I kept a scrapbook she made in 1969 about the Philippines and I've spent the morning digitally archiving it.
