I like this lil guy they are cute

Sketch went from copper to gray, losing a sepia toned style, but he’ll brighten up soon. Eli had a massive change though, very fun to see. It fits him better. And the first drawing is only from January. They’ve evolved a ton.

Our key players in uncovering a decades old conspiracy. Eli, the ever observant sweetheart who tries his best to keep others happy even at his own detriment. And the Detective, a tired and cold man who just wants to be respected. (And maybe loved, but he won’t admit it)
The name Elijah “Eli” Forrester is at the top. To the left of the page, Eli is a heavier-set man with long black hair that has been highlighted in purple. He’s very hairy and has a patchy mustache. He’s wearing a green button up with a leaf pattern and purple bell bottoms, and pink flip flops. On the right of the page there’s a color key for his skin, hair and eyes, and a reference of his police uniform. The middle of the page is text describing him. Eli is a deeply empathetic man, always trying to help those around him even to his own detriment. Quick to a joke and always willing to listen, Eli is easy to befriend and seemingly always in a good mood. He has a hard time dealing with negative emotions, often running from his problems, from dodging the draft to simply turning tail when faced with conflict. He’s not a coward when it comes to others though, throwing himself in the face of danger to protect those he cares about. After losing his job as a park ranger in California, he travels across the country to Jersey to help his sister after she gets sick. Needing a job, he takes a position as a police officer, even if he’d rather do anything else. But he takes what he can get. Besides, it’s not all bad. His partner on the force is pretty cute… Forrester is a - gay man - a stoner - an ex-cultist - a draft dodger The top lists his name and title, Detective C. Sketch MacKenzie. On the left is the detective holding his gray trench coat over his arm and a cigarette in his gloved hands. He wears grey pants, black shoes and suspenders, a light grey shirt, and a fedora to match his pants and coat. With a rough start to life, the detective usually isn’t one to look on the bright side. So he’s a toon! That’s not important! No it doesn’t make him funnier, that’s idiotic! Gah, people just won’t listen! He’s a detective Goddammit! The detective is desperate for respect and connection, and neither are going well. Working under his mentor, he wants to be worthy of his title and for people to like him, to treat him as more than a toon, or the son of a man he never met. Usually people are snide or treat him like he can’t take things seriously. So he combats this with violent outbursts, a frigid demeanor, and a glare sharp enough to cut glass. But that’s not to say he’s a terrible person. The Detective is considerate, kind, and goes out of his way to help those he’s closest to. He’s even a godfather to a young heiress, though he acts as more of an uncle to the girl. When he’s sent to pick up a man from the airport, he has no idea he’s about to meet Eli Forrester, ex-park ranger and the first man he’ll meet that treats him like a person. He’d say it makes his heart flutter but that’s just sappy. (Doesn’t mean it isn’t true though) Sketch is - bisexual (leans towards men) - an orphan, legal inheritor of the MacKenzie title and all properties - tired, so very tired

Was just gonna be fanart for @possessedopossum.bsky.social ‘s August… then I got distracted. So now it’s a young Eli (his story in Pinned) catching a very early morning rerun of August’s show while he’s at a sleepover and being introduced to living cartoons and more music variety. *Might* do a p2?
