This #pitcher was most likely made by the #A:Shiwi (Zuni) artist #We'wha who was born in 1849. We'wha was #lhamana, a term used by people assigned-male-at-birth who present themselves in feminine ways and train primarily in cultural roles associated with women.

Marie Høeg and Bolette Berg, were #Norwegian #photographers, #activists, and partners at the turn of the 20th century. Their personal portraits, found in boxes marked 'private,' were first discovered in the 1980s, after their deaths in the #1940s.

Housed in the #Louvre, The Sleeping #Hermaphroditus: a reclining marble figure on a mattress, (added by Baroque sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini). Figure appears to be a nude woman when viewed from behind, but closer inspection reveals male genitalia.
