I drove from LA to Vegas this morning. A uniquely American adventure in a tiny rental car that rattled at 45mph and redlined if I turned the a/c up too far. This is the best photo I took, a little outside Barstow, of a bird soaring in the opposite direction as I drove past at 80 mph.

@xbox.com @gamepass.xbox.com what are we doing here guys, why do you throttle on every PC I use to download stuff? I've tried every workaround I can find, from delivery optimization to turning ipv6 off, flushing the whole W10 network stack and disabling active a-virus and nothing gets me over 3Mbps

Staying sharp -- published my first map for Overload (that Descent remake from a couple of years ago) in ~18 months. Geometry and lighting are the only fun parts though lol overloadmaps.com/shogun25

I am still pining for the simple days of MS Office 2003 and you mean to tell me they've now done away with the concept of MS Office entirely, in favor of now renaming *the entire software suite*, generative AI pieces and all, 'Copilot'? 2025, the year of lighting institutions on fire I see

Last one -- STFU picks up pretty hard as others fall off (millennials figuring out they can anonymously tweet 'fuck' at the mayor?), then gradually declines again. Interesting! Again, would be interested to see what these look like if Google could index places like TikTok, Snapchat, and Discord.

Trying to think of others that fit this pattern. ROFL, kinda, rofl always kinda sucked imo. Likewise I'm glad the shorthand 'u' isn't as ubiquitous, but I don't think the google trends graph would be useful here.

Interesting how QFT has fallen way off in online speak, that was everywhere at one point and now nobody is QFTing. Indicative we're a post-truth society because we sure as hell haven't stopped quoting stuff at each other.
