67. Draglade [Nintendo DS, 2007, brawler]
Clear time (Guy's story): 3h 45m

I played this solely to see the Shroud Lord (from Distorted Travesty) in his original context.

63. Hades II [PC, 2025, action roguelike]
Clear time (credits): 23h 52m

tl;dr it's fun, and better than Hades 1 in a lot of ways, but ultimately not THAT much different in terms of raw gameplay

Posting my thoughts to Backloggd now since it has a longer character limit and is probably more permanent than social media, so follow me there if you care

Finished the Alabaster Dawn demo. As expected, it was good. Combat has a really great flow to it, the graphics are a huge step up from Crosscode (which I already thought was a beautiful game), music is nice, and I'm excited to see the future dungeons/overworld traversal. Time to wait for 2+ years...

If I were to nitpick, the only real "issue" is that the game probably didn't need so many fetch quests; looking for people is fine, hunting down 25 random items drops is less fine. There were also some visibility issues on some bosses but it's not really that big a deal.

60. Hollow Knight: Silksong [PC, 2025, metroidvania]
Clear time (true end): 35h 49

Excellent game, superior to Hollow Knight in every way. Hornet feels great to control, the world is vast and expansive, and many of the bosses and enemy arenas actually put up a decent fight! Solid art and music too.

Silksong true ending cleared!!!!
Shoutout to my co-op partner Wahfuu and all my other friends who helped out a bit along the way

59. Dungeon Warfare III [PC, 2025, tower defense]
Clear time (all main maps Flawlessed): 11h 12m

Pretty decent tower defense game. The difficulty balance is a bit weird, but they're updating stuff every day so it makes sense. Nice game to chill with.

58.5. Hollow Knight
Clear time (two bosses): 51m

Back when I first played Hollow Knight I was a lot worse at games, so I never actually beat the Radiance or Nightmare King Grimm. Luckily, going back to beat them didn't really take any time at all. Nice fights though

a bit annoying, so I sort of just stopped instead of running around the entire map again. I've seen plenty of people talk up the difficulty, but I didn't really have any issues; the generous checkpointing makes things a lot easier. Also shoutout to instant retry on bosses instead of runbacks!!!!

58. Zexion [PC, 2025, metroidvania]
Clear time (active time): 8h 44m

Cool game! Pretty enjoyable exploration and bosses. The controls can feel a bit finnicky at times once you get all the upgrades, but I ended up getting used to it by the end. Only real negative is that endgame item cleanup is

57. Haiku the Robot [PC, 2022, metroidvania]
Clear time (true end, 95%): 4h 45m

Perfectly competent metroidvania. There's nothing really bad about it, but it does nothing to stand out. Maybe a good choice if it's the first one you ever play.

Almost

it starts out fairly tactical, but it's pretty easy to get a build that just steamrolls everything (except Ending C, that was slightly hard). I'm ultimately fine with that though. The presentation could be better. I like the style of the CG/character art, but the tiling/enemy art is a bit weaker.

56. BLACK SOULS [PC, 2017, turn-based RPG]
Clear time (all endings): 13h 24m

Pretty solid overall. I liked how they reinterpreted the various fairy tales, and the plot beats toward the end of the latter endings are pretty Neat; makes me look forward to playing BS2 at some point. The combat is okay;

54. Castlevania [NES, 1986, platformer]
Clear time: 2h 40m

Played with the Anniversary Collection, so no save states. What do you say about Castlevania in the year 2025... honestly it just kind of sucks, which is about what I expected.
August 9, 2025 at 3:56 AM
really like... a central plot. When the game said "final mission ahead" my reaction was just ???. The MC is a cute dork and there's some funny scenes, but that's about it. The English script is also pretty rough, with a lot of typos/grammar mistakes. Pretty disappointing overall.

53. Artis Impact [PC, 2025, turn-based RPG]
Clear time: 6h 3m

Absolutely incredible visual presentation, but... that's sadly the only thing that really worked for me. The combat balance is incredibly broken (I beat every fight using the same move, which you start the game with), and there isn't

52. Epic Battle Fantasy 4 [PC, 2013, turn-based RPG]
Clear time (Epic difficulty until the final boss): 16h 2m

It's definitely the prototype to EBF5, but it's still fairly solid in its own right. The gameplay is mostly the same (from what I remember), with the main difference being that you have MP

51. Ultros [PC, 2024, metroidvania]
Clear time (Bad Ending): 8h 58m

The combat is a bit jank at times, but the puzzle solving is pretty solid overall. The loop system is kind of repetitive at the start, but it quickly becomes fairly inconsequential. The visuals can be a bit much, but at least

There's still a lot of issues with the English script, but I actually tracked and reported them this time so hopefully they get fixed. Best girl Lura's episode was actually pretty well edited already though, sasuga...

50. Noctuary DLC Episodes [PC, 2025, VN/action]
Clear time: 4h 59m

Nothing too huge here, but they're cute. Nice to see the characters again, nice to see Krosa again (and her combat animations are fun). Funny that the game gets a JP dub but the DLC is unvoiced so I still don't get to hear it, lol

49. Aggelos [PC, 2018, metroidvania]
Clear time (hard mode): 10h 51m

The first is kind of mid but inoffensive. The second half, especially the bosses, is atrocious. Every boss is just a giant awkward hitbox that kills you in 3 hits, or danmaku spam when you really don't have many options to dodge.

48. Wheel World [PC, 2025, biking]
Clear time (all races): 4h 44m

Ehhhh... the AI is so easy to beat, all you have to do is take a shortcut or cut some corners and you're basically guaranteed a win. This makes every race feel repetitive. It's kind of chill to just ride around, I guess.
July 28, 2025 at 6:05 AM
also great, allowing free respecs for both stats and weapons; more soulslikes should copy that. Of course the best thing is that there's actually area music!!! Please copy that too!!! I wish it was a bit harder but maybe I've just played too many. The story was kind of impenetrable, but that's fine.
