Another thing to know is that there are parallel systems that seem to be similar in agencies due to vendor lock-ins, congressional earmarks, and compatibility with other systems. So 4 LMSs might be due to one works with HR, one supports video content, one is internal, and one is for contractors.
I've not been looking closely but saw that the "waste" in some agencies includes software licenses which were "unused". Given that I am old, I remember when the US Government was the #1 pirate of PKZip, learning that an extra license is better than a lawsuit.
Some canceled contracts were for agency subscriptions to media outlets and academic journals, which federal workers say they need to stay informed, the data shows; others were for software, training, research studies, office furniture, and cleanings, the AP reports.

Buckle in people. The next four years will be very hard. Buy non-perishable food and plant a garden. Get ready to both be jobless and help the jobless.

Spicy take: I hope they do EVERYTHING in Project 2025. I hope it radicalizes the generation who will take over and depose these tyrants with the weapons they have forged. The next 4 years are going to be HARD, be ready.

I've seen a child with tetanus, I've treated near fatal infections after chicken pox, and I've pronounced children dead from COVID whose parents refused to have them vaccinated.

We have lost our minds... and are about to lose so many of our precious children.

Me: Dr. Salk your vaccine will save so many children!

Salk: Well thank God

Me: Of course they will grow up

Salk: Well I hope so

Me: And get old

Salk: I guess?

Me: And eventually vote for lunatics who will try to stop your vaccine

Salk: what now

Me: And leave NATO

Salk: shit

well, all my loyal followers need to know that I passed my SANS GREM certification. My brain is mush, my body is weak, but I persevered and have recertified for the third time.

So I'm not 100% politics (sorry, not sorry) I'm working on recertificifying my SANS GREM cert and am knee deep in relearning assembly. As someone with an Art degree this is A LOT.

I didn't see this... I'm horrified. VOA was a bastion of spreading democracy and liberty throughout the world. It was our voice to the world, as US citizens. Now it's fox news international. Like when Trump bragged to the UN about beating HRC in the election. 🤮
Trump has appointed election denier Kari Lake to lead the news organization VOA. It is obviously a terrible match but I don’t think people understand how big a deal the agency is, and how easily it can be turned into a mouthpiece for Trump. open.substack.com/pub/donmoyni...

I feel like I’m re-experiencing my teenage angst as a 40 something year old adult. Raise your hand if you too are out of fucks to give 🤚

Totally normal US President talk.
Let me get this straight? Trump dithers on about the situation in Syria and his concern is what's best for Russia?

Ford pardoned Nixon. GHWB pardoned the Iran-Contra crew. Clinton pardoned Marc Rich and his half brother. Trump pardoned Steve Bannon, Mike Flynn, Roger Stone, and Charles Fucking Kushner!

Joe Biden pardoning his own son doesn't come close to any of those truly controversial pardons. Get a grip.

I think a lot of the US will have questions about limiting executive power after 2025, of course it will be too late, but the right discussion to have at any point. "At least we cemented the checks and balances before the GOP elected the clone they made from Hitler, Mussolini, and Franco."
The issue isn’t whether he acted rightly or not. It’s about the legitimacy of allowing one person, even the president, to hold such power. Neither Biden nor anyone else in charge should have the authority to do this.
President Biden did correct a judicial error. That was nothing but a witch hunt against Hunter. Plain and simple. I want to see this same fire when Trump pardons the treasonous January 6th terrorists.

Oh, just wait.. No one sounds like Trump, especially ice cream grandpa.
News Analysis: In pardoning his son Hunter Biden, President Biden sounded a lot like President-elect Donald Trump by complaining about selective prosecution and political pressure, questioning the fairness of a system that Biden had until now long defended, our White House correspondent writes.

Trump's tariffs will likely be the next shock they'll happily pass onto consumers.

The result? A massive transfer of wealth to corporate America.
