(1/2) An anonymous comment on a Reddit post that reads: “Landlord title and job aside, I can confirm that this man has serious issues (to put it mildly). He was my landlord almost a decade ago when I was in my early twenties and I was so afraid of him that I locked my bedroom door every night and slept with a knife. He would let himself into our apartment with no notice and his own key whenever he pleased- even at night on a week day and proceeded to sit down in our kitchen and ask for a drink when my roommate was in a robe and had clearly just showered. He made comments about my cats haircut and asked me repeatedly if she was the only p*** I shaved, and several other incredibly uncomfortably and inappropriate instances. Once I was locked out of our apartment in the dead of winter after he had his workers there all day with the door open and the lock was stuck. I sat at a nearby bar for hours waiting for him to "finish his workout" and when he finally got there and was able to get it unstuck he put his hand on my thigh and said "lube makes everything in life easier" and asked me what my plans for the evening were- I was late for a work function and asked him to leave- he laughed and did so. Worse, towards the end of our lease, I ran into him on the L after work one day. We were underground and the train was not moving between stops and severely delayed. He asked me if I knew of his investments in the west loop and my response was along the lines of "why would I" and he told me he thought l'd find them interesting. Then he proceeded to tell me that he was cleaning "prostitutes" (he used a different word) off the streets and putting their bodies in the walls-that sometimes it was like playing Tetris with the” (2/2) An anonymous comment on a Reddit post that reads: “was cleaning "prostitutes" (he used a different word) off the streets and putting their bodies in the walls-that sometimes it was like playing Tetris with the bones. His last comment before I got off the next stop (early because I wanted to get away from him was that the only reason I was safe was because he didn't want to get his DNA under my long nails. Two hours later I was home and cleaning to calm my nerves. I heard the door and thought it was my roommate- running into the kitchen I said "you are not going to believe this.." and stopped because it was Nick who had let himself in. He said we needed to have a chat to ensure I knew he was joking and he wasn't going to have the police on his doorsteps. At one point he said he was going to use the bathroom and I took that as an opportunity to get my knife- he came up behind me not 1 minute later, shut the drawer that it was in and said "cute" then left. I moved out one month later and out of the city- blocked his number. That said, we did throw a wicked party and I thought that was the least we deserved. I was a scared young 20-something woman fresh out of an abusive relationship when this went down and he terrified me. It would have been a different story if this had happened to me now. Nick if you're reading this, you know exactly who I am. Hope someone finally reveals who you are.”
