Also an amazing original that can be seen in Viena. The Venus of Wlllendorf is exposed in the Natural History Museum.
It is mind-blowing that this little, wonderful figure was made more than 25000 years ago

@icesmarine.bsky.social has just issued its 2025 advice for eels. Again (!!), it recommends zero-catches for all life stages, in all habitats and all aims (including aquaculture and stockings)
We must stop marketing eels now to avoid their extinction

An amazing barn owl in the nativity painted around 1510 by Juan de Flandes
This was once in San Lázaro church, in Palencia (Spain). But it was sold in the 1950s and is now kept in the US National Gallery of Art
