It's not stupid when Nintendo itselves took a strong stance regarding the Switch. Also:
- it is important to know how long a product is supposed to be supported when you are on the fence to invest in it
- history/trend is not a rule
- according to your data, NS2 could last either 4 or 8+ years...

How to describe Nintendo statement from the early Switch days then? www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSw...

The answer could have been a commitment and give confidence to whoever wants to take the words at face value.
A vague answer like this one... is just another awkward communication from Nintendo.

Adreno 830 is also quite advanced. This video sounds off to me. I don't like the vague declarations and the references to Iwata-san's vision trying to imply this chip is part of his legacy.
T239 is very good NVidia work from 2021/2022. No need to try to depaint it as the perfect 2025 mobile chip...

"Advanced"... Arc 140v also has dedicated RT/AI cores, is built using 3nm and powers the MSI Claw 8 since late last year.
This T239 GPU is no slouch, but I can't help thinking it was designed for a Q4 2023/Q1 2024 release. It could (should) have been reworked for 5nm once the mid 2025 date was set.

That's good news, I hope it sets a mark for third party devs.
For gamers who will avoid digital and game key games, NS2 should at least prove to be the best way to play NS1 games. A proper Switch Pro.
This and a few new Nintendo all time classic games is enough to make the purchase worth it to me.

This means MiSTer devices could be produced for many years to come. This is the most important part. As for DC or PS2 or whatever more modern 3D system can be ported... I'm not sure I see the point in going the fpga route.

FWIU main advantage is long term support. Agilex 5 is faster (max. freq). They can offer more LEs (on the more expensive models) and more of everything in fact (cache, DSPs...). It also gets an HPS with more capable ARM cores (A76). Ho, and it has AI tensor cores 😂
In short: it's more modern
