Contact your reps in state govt. If you live in a red state, you'll get more traction if you center your argument on "protecting law enforcement from impersonators". Might not be the most important reason, but it's the one they might actually care about.

It's not about preventing passage. The point of staying is to empower any GOP moderates to hold out against the most egregious provisions. As long as every Dem is present and voting nay, any GOP holdout has leverage.

I think WE (the people collectively) are the primary check that has failed.

Congress has the power to rein in a rogue President, as intended. They're silent because they don't want to stop him, not because they can't.

We are the check against that. It's our job to vote them out of office.

We should support him because he's the one in the firefight at the moment. It doesn't mean he needs to be the next leader of the Democratic party.

Rally around him AND everyone else who takes a stand over the next 3 years. We have time to see who fights hardest before we anoint anyone.
