The weather here in da frozen tundra is getting really nice, finally some sign of spring! Supposed to hit close to 80 tomorrow. I need to start wearing sunscreen again when I’m on my crossing guard shifts, as it’s warm enough to go without a jacket, at least in the afternoon.

Being a crossing guard at a middle school who crosses 150-200 kids per shift really keeps me on my toes! I warm up by bending my knees and breathing from my diaphragm. One little girl asked me my age. When I told her I am 60, she said “oh that’s okay”. Tough having one foot in the grave, LOL!

My Mom got polio in 1946 when she was two years old. Hearing about her very difficult childhood really makes me grateful that I grew up in a time when there was a vaccine for that, and other things.

Last Tuesday, it was minus 11F, windchill minus 30F. Today, six days later, was 54F with a windchill of 50F. Quite a temperature swing in 6 days. Gotta love Wisconsin in February.
