One Sentence Movie Review for Dec. 6, 2025: Good Boy is amazing, with an incredible performance from its lead actor, Indy, a dog who sees his owner slowly succumb to…something- I don’t want to ruin it, but I say it’s less a horror movie and more a tragic tale of the bond between a dog and his human.

Some of my favorite horror movies are anthology films featuring short stories tied to an overall theme. My all-time favorite is Trick 'r Treat, followed closely by Creepshow (and Creepshow 2) and the V/H/S series. All are great flicks to enjoy on a dark and spooky Halloween night.

IMHO, the three best horror comedies ever made are: The Cabin in the Woods, Tucker and Dale bs. Evil and Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn. All three are hilarious masterpieces.

If nothing else, Superman was a beautiful film with incredible cinematography. Some of the shots in it are absolutely breathtaking. (And, as always, Krypto rules!)

My latest finished cross stitch project—Dead or Alive, You’re Coming with Me. I’m a Robocop fan. I think this conveys the action of the films. I love how the reflections in his suit came out. Began June 23, completed on Aug. 6, 2025. See my completed projects at www.instagram.com/chicory_stit...

One Sentence Movie Review for July 26, 2025: Excellent—Marvel is back on track with this fun, exciting 60s throwback with great performances from Pedro Pascal (what ISN’T he in), Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Julia Garner—it’s a lot of fun, setting up some further adventures.

One Sentence Movie Review for July 12, 2025: Superman made me happy with perfect casting (David Corenswet is now my 2nd favorite Superman), great action, superb characters (anything with Nathan Fillion & Alan Tudyk is tops with me), hopeful story and one of the best dogs in movie history—Krypto!

My latest finished cross stitch project: Kitty in a Corner. A very quick little project that I did while at a three-day dog agility show last weekend. Started on June 20 and finished on June 22, 2025. Finished size is about 4"x4". Fabric is DMC and the pattern is from AuthorEmbroideDesign on Etsy.

My latest finished cross stitch project: I’ll Be Right Here. Back to my BIG projects! As a kid (and let’s face it, an adult as well) I was a huge fan of E.T. I begged my Mom to take me to see it at least three times in the summer of ‘82. Started on April 26 and completed on June 18, 2025.

Fiona and Fritz now have their own action figures. Note the agility jump accessory in Fiona’s box and the TP tube in Fritz’s (which he LOVES tearing up).

I’ve been playing with this ChatGPT thing to create an action figure of myself. (NOT a doll, thankyouverymuch!) I must cost a fortune! Look at all those cool accessories!

One of the advantages of having a Bird Buddy is being able to check the weather at home with the live feed. Today, I checked and saw it was raining—A LOT. Here is one of our blue birds grousing about the damp weather and what I think is the same guy at the feeder earlier today when it was dry.

When you accidentally slo-mo record your pup playing with his snuffle mat and he ends up sounding like a T-Rex with an ingrown toenail and a tummy ache.💥🦖

I’ve really enjoyed watching our little Bluebird couple come and grab a bite to eat at the Bird Buddy over the past few days.

My Bird Buddy captured a yellow cardinal this morning. He/she wasn’t 100% yellow, but pretty close. According to the Google machine, “A yellow cardinal is extremely rare, with experts estimating that the genetic mutation causing this coloration affects only about one in a million birds.”

One Sentence Movie Review for Feb. 17, 2025: If you haven’t seen The Wild Robot, drop what you’re doing and go watch it immediately—it’s sweet, beautifully animated, heartfelt, and darkly humorous in parts (it’ll go over the kids’ heads, don’t worry)—but bring the tissues for the bittersweet tears.

My latest finished cross stitch project: Leave Me Alone, I’m Cross Stitching. This was a quick project between bigger projects. It was completed on a fabric remnant called “Forgotten Mushroom”from River Hut Designs and the design itself is from The Witchy Stitcher. Completed on February 8, 2025.

My latest finished cross stitch project: The Pharaoh. This is one of my favorite projects I’ve done so far — I’m an absolute nut for Ancient Egypt. This is one of my biggest projects, measuring 14” x 18” and it took me from April 2024 to January 2025 to finish. Completed on January 28, 2025.

A quick video of all the cross stitch projects I finished in 2024. Not nearly as many as I would have liked to get done, but there are some really complicated patterns in there. So, it’s all good. Working on a pretty complicated one now that will be my first 2025 finish!
