I am a Canadian 4th year PhD student in experimental physics (condensed matter), but my goal is to become a full time instructor! I also live with ESRD and I'm not afraid to talk about it.

I hate how my hospital room has a better view than my 1700$ apartment...
...at least I cook somewhat better than the hospital food service. Toast and a single, boiled egg this morning? (That might be better than I can do)

I've made it to year 3 of having Stage 5 (End Stage) Kidney Disease.
I am one in about 1900 people in Canada living with stage five. I am also waiting for a transplant. The wait time is roughly 5 years for a deceased donor. 1/2
