Packing lunches, then making art.

A whole load of laundry washed, dried, and put away. Beautiful hens, and enough eggs for a birthday dinner. A gift wrapped and dropped off in the post, on its way to Wisconsin. Received a beautiful card all the way from Hawaii.

I miss feeling hopeful. I miss believing that our country was flawed, but full of good intentions and possibilities. I miss friends, making happy plans, and waking up with soft, comforting thoughts.

Friends are gathering here, more and more. What a happy development.
In celebration, I want to share something sweet -Maria and I met a dog this week, and his name is Henry. He’s just as calm and charming as he looks. I am utterly smitten.

Alex cut down the bamboo. Now the goats are helping us mulch it up.
