Trump has named Charles Kushner, father of Jared Kushner, as ambassador to France. The elder Kushner once pleaded guilty to tax evasion and making illegal campaign contributions. Trump pardoned him in 2020.

Good news is very welcome! Two House races out in CA are likely to notch flips for the Dems, shrinking the GOP House majority even further. The right is calling foul, but I’m rather enjoying what will result from this. Read more in my piece, link in the replies.

Don’t pile on Jack Smith for voluntarily dismissing charges against Trump without prejudice. It means the new Trump AG can’t come in and kill the cases on Trump’s terms. Smart move by Smith that preserves options for later.
