Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

His track record speaks for itself. While we continue to resist, we should take comfort in that he is deeply incompetent, not very bright & his policies are hurting even his most devoted supporters. Let's not get in the way of his inevitable self-destruction.

Trump issued an executive order invoking a wartime law the Alien Enemies Act of 1798—a little-known law—would allow the government to deport without due process.

Racialized policies and laws can be found throughout history. Scott Michaelsen shows the connection with Japanese internment and the Patriot Act and how they led to the border policies of today. Steven Salaita argues that the Palestine exception to free speech shows it's functionality. -CME

(1/2) How should we react to racial capitalism & exploitation?

If we want our REALITY to match free market THEORY, we need to fix the issues illustrated below...

Is this alone enough to bring justice to the system of racial capitalism?

Comment your thoughts and ideas on resistance!

(2/2) Our last post mentioned externalities as a market failure. But why should we care?

These case studies show how the health & environmental externalities in our economy are often laid at the doorstep of vulnerable racialized groups.

Racial capitalism didn’t end with slavery—it just evolved. Black people continue to be deprived for financial gain, from being denied land to being excluded from wealth. However, Black identity? It is based on tenacity, defiance, and the struggle for freedom.
