The government’s conduct in the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Salvadoran man illegally sent to a Salvadoran prison, is bad enough standing on its own. It is worse because it is part of a pattern of high-handed obstructionism.

This is a fiction we all tell ourselves to live with anxiety about death. Multiple friends didn't believe me when I told them I had cancer. "But you're so healthy!" Diet and exercise have nothing to do with it.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.
