The text is as follows: * COATIMUNDI Procyonidae Nasua * Double jointed ankles can rotate 180° to the centuries, a trait shared with raccoons * Related to raccoons, coatis live in woods of the Southwest of US, down to various parts of South America * Tail used for balance and to be easily found in tall grass * Coati Moms give birth in trees after 3 months. Two to seven kits are born and stay in the tree until they learn how to climb down. * Long flexible snout can rotate up to 60° to probe below rocks and fallen leaves in search of insects, grubs and fruit. * Elongated nasal bones for an acute sense of smell and support muscles for snoot flexibility * Strong forearms and shoulders for robust muscles used in digging or pulling logs apart * Plantigrade feet for walking on soles, not toes * Long, strong non-retractable claws used in excavation, like mini shovels.

Wow gouache is crazy! It's difficult to scan AND to photograph!
(Kinda makes it special in an infuriating way 😝)
I'm colorblind so I already have enough on my color plate lol ugh
If anyone has any ideas how to photograph or scan gouache I'm all ears 🌽
My painting scanned by a Canon printer/scanner... It's impossible to adjust this with any app, As far as I know. 💔 A photograph of the same painting, but I had to reduce the exposure and make it darker in order for some of the colors to come out. 🙄 The photograph adjusted so that it looks somewhat like the real thing. The top row features: 1 an underwater scene with a red octopus swimming near the surface 2 a tropical scene at sunset as viewed from the water 3 a black crowned night heron mid-flight The bottom row shows: 4 a rainforest canopy, clouds looming and a clear sky behind 5 a beautiful orange flower amongst leaves which fade into the darkness, but there is a visitor inside the flower itself 6 a tropical island scene as viewed from the ocean towards a beach and a jungle thicket

Learning how to do collage. I took an old NatGeo, carefully pulled it apart and then put the process back together! I might use these as journal covers 🤔 because I'm learning bookbinding as well!
A collage made with pieces of an old national geographic magazine. There was an article about skeletons of different animals, so I placed a dolphin skeleton at the top. Another article was about jaguars and it happened to have skill images, so I took one and placed it at the bottom. A separate article about the Arctic has become the background. I then cut out some words and put them together next to the skull: "Del Nuevo Mundo" (Spanish for "Of The New World"). I then used some white acrylic to paint some leaves on a page and cut them out and place them behind the dolphin. Here I used the article about the Arctic and used it as the background, but upside down. There was an ad in the center to subscribe to national geographic and it was made from newsprint so the large fennec fox head in the left center looks washed out because of that. A small statue of a naked ancient man is near the fox's nose. Some plants cutouts are pasted on the top right and bottom left corners. I cut out some wording from an article about the human brain: "la mente es lo que el cerebro crea" (Spanish for " the mind is what the brain creates ")
