The assassinations in Minnesota. The assassin posing as a police officer. Masked "ICE" agents. Marines called in to fight on American soil. And now: Trump Mobile.

Happy Friday, #quiltsky! I'm having fun with angles. Thrifted ingredients: velvet curtain, silk ties, cotton shirting. It's about 45" square.

I don’t think that’s the actual photo. Photoshopped? For reference:

I quilt for sanity (my own). Using only thrifted, reclaimed fabric from shirts, skirts, various home decor, etc.

Deconstructed men's ties are a source of fabulous silk -- and time-capsule polyester !

My work is more about texture, color, and discovery than perfect alignment. But every time I see perfect alignment in everybody else’s work I’m envious. Trying to welcome imperfection in a craft that exalts perfection. #quiltsky

Vintage silk ties, two skirts, four shirts, velvet curtain, found ribbon, bed sheet for backing. 35.5” square, more or less.

Just finished James by Percival Everett, on audible. It is a must-listen. The narrator brings the code switching and a dialects to life. I hesitated for months, knowing it would be painful and violent. But the satire, plot twists and deep, abiding love are truly luminescent. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The appliqué was cut from a thrifted J. Jill skirt. Sourcing, deconstructing and reimagining thrifted clothes is my jam.

Next quilt: inspo design on left, first square on right. Thrifted vintage ties + men’s shirts.
