A 6-story building in Chicago needs to be built of non-combustible construction through-out, and a building over 60' needs to use cast iron pipes for all sanitary/storm risers. A lot more detail to review regarding this and happy to talk with anyone that is interested. Multiple 6 figure savings.

Without getting too technical this would provide a huge savings in construction cost to project at 6-stories. Right now, a 6-story building IN CHICAGO needs to be non-combustible construction through-out, either concrete or steel stud framing,

This is great news. There are two other code modifications that should run parallel with this and are also more in keeping with the rest of the country and with base IBC requirements. 1) Allowing Type IIIA construction above 5 stories, and 2) allowing PVC Sanitary/Storm riser above 60 feet.
