Absolutely outraged and appalled as a Californian, and daughter of a refugee and immigrant, who had to flee fascism. We are in increasingly dangerous territory.

Yes, what an ongoing nightmare.

Yes Le Chagrin et la Pitié, The Sorrow & The Pity is truly one of the greatest films ever made about a country and its citizens grappling with war, bravery, complicity…

It played a big role in changing France’s understanding of its own World War II history.

Merci Marcel.

🙏 & Happy Passover Julie, even as our journey from slavery to freedom demands more from us now than ever before…

🙏 from San Francisco for your deep work to preserve memory, we are kindred spirits in that regard.
And given what we are living through historical remembrance is more important than ever - everyone’s history.

🙏 for sharing your beautiful, profound statement by your grandmother. Made me 😢 for her and also for my own Jewish family persecuted & murdered under Hitler.

Thank you also for your incredible Atlantic article about Stolpersteine remembrance plaques in Germany. We laid our own there last October.

Schumer is not. A disaster!
March 13, 2025 at 11:47 PM
Be very careful minority leader Schumer.

If you vote to keep the government under the intolerable terms of the majority, you will be losing millions of us Dems who have been loyal for decades and will never forgive this or donate to the party again.

Our governor has done a lot of good for our state, but this is a terrible political choice he is making.
March 12, 2025 at 4:09 PM
I actually wondered if the word had gotten out not to be political at the Oscars because it would give the orange monster an excuse to withhold disaster aid to California and Los Angeles still recovering from the 🔥 …

How far we have sunk.
