After so many years Rome still surprises me. A beautiful spring day, a quiet walk on the Appian Way and a visit to the tomb of Cecilia Metella, discovering that is much more than this. The nephew of Boniface VIII in a few years built a castle and closed the main road to Rome, taking control of it.
