Otherwise you’re either for the status quo or, as Zack has been, you get accused of being out of touch with reality

Yes as usual we’d like things to be simpler than they are. Current politics has to be simple though, so we will need some sort of short hand for these debates if it is to say anything about economics, which I’d have thought it has to

insupportable. It seems obvious that there are arguments of principle which @zackpolanski.bsky.social has not been able to express with his customary clarity. Can you suggest a good place for a non expert to look for a “respectable” discussion of the limits of neoclassical economics when making 2/3

I’m more sympathetic towards people like Murphy and Keen than perhaps I ought to be for two reasons: a model of the economy that is based on banks merely acting as intermediaries has got to be wrong and more seriously a model that justifies the current distribution of goods is ethically 1/2

Love your work George but that has been in the realms of the bleedin obvious since they got elected. Interesting question is why Starmer seems so attached to some commitments and so careless about others

According to Steve Keen they still use the loanable funds model of banking when producing their forecasts. If that’s true then the forecasts aren’t worth the paper or electrons they’re written on

They used WMDs *twice* in the UK. The first time was in *2006*. And now we’re “weighing a shift”? Fuck sake guys get a fucking grip

Only explanation for the otherwise suicidal buy-now-pay-later budget is if they’re heading for common market by another name. This plus Farage character assassination( not hard) is them starting to roll the pitch

God knows where you find the energy but if you keep hitting the socials/media like you are you could do one of these a month. Take care of yourself though Zack, it’s a long road you’re on
