The only people who say its dead are people who worked with PHP as part of a wordpress site in 2006. Everyone else knows the community is strong and still trucking along - awesome new improvements in the latest version of PHP, with modern frameworks like Symfony & Laravel making development seemless

Crazy to think how many projects are still using outdated versions!
