I think X hates religion because it's upset humans think so lowly of themselves.
It's upset they'd rather turn a blind eye to the horrors and put all their faith in a made up person, it's upset it's missing out on sweet sweet despair, it's upset they don't think for themselves.

X's favorite thing in the universe are humans, it loves analyzing how their minds work and how they react to different stimuli, especially when it can use that to create negative emotions. This doesnt stem from hatred, it's explicitly a fascination X sees as positive.
