One game not found on here I'd recommend is Environment Station Alpha, which starts off as a solid but very standard Metroid Fusion-like affair, and transitions into a Metroidbrainia when it comes to post-game secrets. A very interesting game.

Hats off @josephmansfield.uk, this was a really well written and comprehensive look into the genre. I'll have to check out some of these more niche titles.
