Hoekstra was sworn in as U.S. Ambassador in Dec, 2017. During his tenure, he gained notability for making anti-Muslim comments. He left office on Jan, 2021. On Jan, 2024, Hoekstra was elected chair of the Michigan Republican Party. He is listed as a "contributor" to Project 2025.
