Exxon already has First Amendment protections thanks to the Citizens United decision. So, they might have a shot at winning.

In the 60s some British dude decided to take over a small island (I think one of the Channel Islands). He had an FN-FAL rifle. The local constable, who did not have a gun, disarmed the nutter and arrested him.

I think conservative politicians and activists would rather have us think in terms of small government, government overreach, and how welfare creates dependency. Oh, and there is a small "taxation is theft" minority on the conservative side as well.

I was about to make a comment about interlocking directorates from social theory. Sometimes the directorate members have to cooperate to cover up something unseemly when they'd rather be manipulating public policy and markets.

Unfortunately, there are lots of horror stories like hers now. I'm glad I at least have insurance that's heavily subsidized by my (Canadian) employer.
