I find AI autocomplete very irritating, autocomplete used to be useful because it would complete things that were actually in your code; AI autocomplete makes up things so now it's worse than useless and I have to type everything out anyway.

Surely the actual reason for the ban is the national security of having all the major players in the social media space being owned by people from your nation - which makes them more vulnerable to your political pressure than other people's and also brings you revenue and prestige?

I think there are some attractors there, like the non safety rules and plot are mostly opt in, there's not much required reading, good photo opportunities; it lets them avoid things that don't scale like expecting everyone to care about a detailed world, economy that works, enforcing game rules etc.
