No, they weren't. That field goal isn't guaranteed, especially when you consider the kicker already missed 3 other kicks. There's also a chance the kick gets blocked, something we've seen several times in the last few weeks.

The check didn't clear. Plain and simple. Just need to hope Mr. Hunt has his money right in time for the playoffs so this doesn't happen again.

It was also one of the biggest talking points over the last week. It's one reason why I roll my eyes when I hear "take the points." Points are never guaranteed.

My only concern would have been potentially missing the kick or having it blocked, but I agree not scoring the touchdown is likely the better play.
