Yup, been there. Accused of cheating for finding a rather simple tactic. Difficult to decide whether being accused of playing like a bot should be taken as insult or compliment.

That can work. Sell it as an anniversary weekend away with a side of chess? Although, as long as there are good coffee shops, I can sell the husband on pretty much anything. Last time Charlotte looked very promising!

I mean, one could write something about #jeansgate and relate it to how companies need to find middle ground between enforcing rules and treating people like adults? Although that topic has been covered to death…but maybe there is some potential there…?

I wrote a few chess posts on LinkedIn last year and tried to be as authentic as possible (but not unprofessional - a challenge lol). So many folk at work mention my posts in meetings! So…the good news is, in a sea of cringe, anything even remotely original goes a long way! It’s an opportunity! ;-)

In the Take Take Take interview Magnus does say that he was already annoyed with FIDE because of them threatening players for participating in Freestlye - so I think you’re right about this.

That is a more convenient schedule for sure, this time of year. “I can’t because I’m watching chess” is somehow not that a socially acceptable excuse 🤷♀️.
