I’m reading this book “Magnolia Wu Unfolds It All” by Chanel Miller. It’s about a girl whose family works at a laundromat and she keeps all the socks people lose. She’s trying to return them to everyone and the first person she finds plays chess in Washington Square Park 🥺 what a lovely chess cameo

So I went Kg8 because I wanted to protect my pawn and get off the pin and that made this position go from -8 to +1 😩 apparently I could let him take my pawn and all that mess could happen and it would have been fine

For context, at the beginning of this year the majority of RVA didn’t have any clean water for an entire week, half of whom didn’t have any running water period. So. Guess we can add clean drinking water to the list of things that are too woke or whatever.

Ok yall this book is kinda growing on me, but I can’t decide if it goes in the chess section of my library or not cuz it’s like??? Only sorta about chess??But also it’s chess print and literally called intermezzo so I feel like I can’t not put it there. Plus I only bought it for the chess reference

Ok so one thing that is starting to annoy me is how Ivan (the chess guy) will start talking about chess to someone and then be like “never mind I’m sure you don’t wanna hear me go on about my chess games” BROTHER I DO THAT IS THE ONLY REASON IM HERE.
