i think the main prompt for the altruistic behavior (giving a seat) is being reminded about altruism, not possible punishment.
There's a whole line of psych research on environmental variables that increase altruism, and one powerful variable is watching an altruistic act.

My state is a one-person consent state re recording -- if yours is you can do it openly or secretly. We ended up with an attorney attending every meeting, and he recorded everything. It got a lot more civilized from there.

The IEP team had all sorts of ways to tell us they thought we were out of line when we were just trying to get them to comply. It's just a tactic, and IMHO is born of laziness.
Our situation became really ugly, and involved recording every minute of the meeting (to keep them from lying to us).

I regularly listen to Casefile, which is Aussie, and the accent is so comforting that the icky crime details sort of fade out a little.

Thankfully everyone at home is being tremendously helpful, and the boys are being very protective. Feels like the next few days are going to be rough, but I'll figure it out.
I had no idea how much stuff I carry around the house -- with no hands free I'm going to have to wear a backpack.

I got a PIC line bacterial infection once during a migraine hospitalization. Can also happen with regular IVs - I can't remember most of the three days because I was delirious, and I'm lucky to be alive.
