“Some things you must always be unable to bear. Injustice and outrage and dishonor and shame. No matter how young you are and how old you have got. Not for kudos and not for cash. Your picture in the paper nor money in the bank, neither. Just refuse to bear them.” #Faulkner #JackKornfield #reading

Now, more than ever, we need to lean in toward the light.

Look to the plants…build community, walk with compassion and love, stand strong like an Oak.

It’s a small thing friends, but if you see someone talking about what they’ve done for the boycott today, LIKE IT! It doesn’t hurt you, and it helps encourage and build this community support and movement. We need to SEE each other and build each other up to a bigger movement.

Should be finishing up my taxes, but I keep tripping over the books by my chair. Love this poem by Mark A Noll. It’s all perspective. `Snow’ #poetry #snow #winter #books #reading

In 2019 I saw Jaki Shelton Green receive NC Humanities Council’s highest award. The poet and activist, Nikky Finney, introduced her and gave one hell of a speech. 🔥 That night I sent Finney an email. Within 15 minutes she had emailed me back. Read that last sentence. “We will get through this…” ❤️
