Its the only one of their games that require an entire debrief on the game’s quirks to help a player understand it (the giant importance of leveling adp, getting used to not locking on, the different approach to healing in the game with the estus and the supplement that is lifegems, etc).

As someone with like 300 hours in the game it has a lot to love but a lot to… not love. It has so many unique builds and a great story about endless cycles, but its level design (especially in SotFS) and world cohesion are very mixed, and agility being tied to I-frames and healing speed is a choice
