Did my 105th round of chemo (“somewhere I’ve been”) and I’m alive 7 1/2 years with Stage 4 cancer with original dx of 3-6 months to live. I’m proof that cancer research works and is needed. People used to die within months of being dx with the Stage 4c CRC that I have.

I would not have lasted long in this universe because I would have been, like… hey, that’s Superman! He’s just got glasses on. 🤓

Went away but now I’m back. Here’s one of my limited access photos. I’m not sure if you’re aware— now you will be— but I love Halloween so this new Summerween is alright with me. We have a vintage mask collection on our Stairwell. Nothing like these… think 70/80s.

Trying to stay sane, and off the internet as much as I can… so I’ve decided to fill The Brides hair using the French Knot stitch. Very time consuming.

Every. Day. I’m trying to not worry about the ACA and the fact that they halted all cancer research. You know why I’m still here almost 7 years with Stage 4 CRC? Because of ACA & Cancer research!!

Last weeks chemo was #90… my cancer center does pods so I meet a number of ppl through out the day. When I go to chemo I focus hard on bringing the light. Even on days when I can’t see it for myself I can somehow muster it for others and that in turn helps me find tiny little rays for myself.

I’ve had 2 lung resection due to metastatic CRC and I’m in active treatment. I’ll be masking until the day I die. How’s that answer for: Why do you wear a mask? Or-You know you don’t have to wear that anymore.

Healing was slow going for me. It took me a year to heal from HIPEC. Which is completely normal. Eating a as very difficult. I couldn’t eat more than 6 bites a meal. There was a lot of tears. I was also suffering from pelvic radiation pains & chemo side effects.

During the cytoreductive surgery they did a liver & colon resection, oopherectomy, appendectomy, removed tumors from my peritoneal & retro peritoneal cavity & 20 lymph nodes. Inserted a gtube into my stomach. At the end of the surgery they filled my abdomen up with hot chemo and shook me for 90 min

In 2018 I was dx at age 44 with inoperable Stage 4 #colorectalcancer I was given a 3-6 mo. to live Dx. Luckily, I responded well to chemo and 7 months of it made me operable and qualify for Cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC (the mother of all surgeries).

I love this offices pain chart! I can never figure out what I’m feeling on the other ones… and as women we tend to minimize whereas the dudes maximize.

Just a few of my surgeries. I’ve had CRS/Hipec, 3 liver resections, 3 lung resections, pelvic radiation, colon resection, SBRT, liver ablation, oophorectomy, appendectomy and so far 2 kinds of chemo (86 rounds as of last week)! If you’re new to CRC and reading this— YOU can do it!! #colorectalcancer
