Catcher of new humans, befriender of delinquent dogs. I’m a lover not a fighter.
Do I detect a note of sarcasm?

I looked after someone with AKI, Fatty Liver Syndrome and DKA and my other half said it sounded like a garage festival lineup..

People who host a party and say “let me give you a tour of the house”: I’m more a “here’s the kitchen, this is the downstairs loo, enter any other room at your own risk”.

I’ve just opened this morning’s ‘connections’ and I already know it’s going to piss me off.

Justin Hawkins was a pleasure to listen to on #Tracksofmyyears today. I can imagine he’s a good guy to have an interesting chat with.

Trawling the shit soup of Trump’s latest appalling outburst does nothing for insomnia but I can’t seem to help scrawling on in horror. Someone slap me back to sleep.

I’ve just seen an electric bin lorry and this is going to change my whole existence. No longer will I be able to run out the door in my PJs in a panic. Stealth bin era is upon us 😕

I wish Charles Dickens was able to hear Dombey and Son read by David Timson. It’s a pure delight.

#youcantsaythat on Netflix is wonderful. A thought provoking and candid reaction from special people in Australia. Vision impaired, living with Downs Syndrome, same sex parents..I’ve just watched the Centenarians which is delightful. A strong recommend and thank you to all who took part.

For people that don’t work Christmas, working a nightshift on Christmas night is like being the only designated driver for your hire car on holiday.

We have a smart meter and a smart thermostat and I have to assume they are named ironically as neither of them seem to know what the hell they’re doing.

If I was navigating my way through a post-apocalyptic world, I’d want this girl beside me.

I’ve just eaten an orange and it’s a good reminder of why I don’t put up with all that shit very often.

Just watched a sparrow-hawk circle my garden kamikaze style before sitting on the fence and watching me for five minutes against the most stunning pink sky. I cursed myself for not having my phone, but then enjoyed the freedom of just watching it for myself (and whispering ‘don’t eat my blue tits’).

Really felt for Georgie then. It’s like turning over an exam paper and having no clue what they’re talking about (been there..made up an extended episode of Eastenders in my head for an hour to occupy the time) #GBBO

Just proudly stepped out in my new walking boots and nearly face-planted as the hooks caught on each other. Now I’m walking like I’ve pooed myself and I don’t which is more embarrassing.

Thanks @gregjenner.bsky.social for your ‘reco-tv-list’. I started Ludvig last night and had a jolly good chuckle. I’ve got a nice bundle of series to look forward to now.

Any #Dickens fans? I’m reading Our Mutual Friend at the moment and it really reminds of the writing style of George Eliot. It seems quite removed from his normal writing, although I’m still enjoying it. I’d be interested to hear opinions.

I need fresh gypsophila for a christening next weekend. If anyone spots it in a supermarket this week can you let me know?

I love discovering authors that have gone under the radar for me. Ann Patchett is the latest. I loved The Dutch House (recommended by David Sedaris) and then read State of Wonder which was brilliant. Can’t wait to read the rest of them. #books
