Good advice from someone whose family has personally done this before.
annactribe 13h: by author Daughter of MLK and Coretta Scott King posted this advice as the next 6 months are going to "get real". 1. Don't use his name; EVER (47 will do) 2. Remember this is a regime and he's not acting alone; 3. Do not argue with those who support him-it doesn't work, 4. Focus on his POLICIES, not his orange-ness and his mental state; 5. Keep your message positive; they want the country to be angry and fearful because this is the soil from which their darkest policies will grow; 6. No more helpless/hopeless talk; 7. Support artists and the arts; 8. Be careful not to spread fake news. Check it; 9. Take care of yourselves; And 10. Resist! When you post or talk about him, don't assign his actions to him, assign them to "The Republican Administration, or "The Republicans." This will have several effects: the Republican legislators will either have to take responsibility for their association with him or stand up for what some of them don't like; he will not get the focus of attention he craves.

Let’s talk about 2 principles close to my ❤️. Communal Effort & Civic Responsibility. These 2 echo what makes a great default world society. Don’t just attend, volunteer!
Communal Effort Our community values creative cooperation and collaboration. We strive to produce, promote and protect social networks, public spaces, works of art, and methods of communication that support such interaction. —This all leads to the statement “for the common good” and in default world is as much about protecting our libraries, museums, public broadcasting systems, and marginalized communities as it is about our subculture. We are radically open to participation but hate has no space with the burning community. And when you see the level of passion and art someone else brings to the table it’s hard to hang on to prejudices. Civic Responsibility We value civil society. Community members who organize events should assume responsibility for public welfare and endeavor to communicate civic responsibilities to participants. They must also assume responsibility for conducting events in accordance with local, state and federal laws. —This is usually where we talk about volunteerism and the fact this event doesn’t happen through paying individuals but through everyone bringing something to the effort of making our micro community within the event safe and fun for everyone. We have volunteer rangers, medics, infrastructure etc. And we always need more to help. And volunteering is an awesome way to meet new people who may become life long friends.

The cake is not a lie. It’s also not real. This is a visual representation of cake. You could lick the screen but I wouldn’t if you ever use the phone while you poop. Ew. Also, the THC seltzer is REALLY nice. Under both the plate and the cake is a pinup picture that is part of the sexy decoupaged tables at this bar in St Louis MO.

Radical Self Reliance: Burningman encourages the individual to discover, exercise and rely on their inner resources. This means being prepared for the environmental challenges an event might have on your body and mind. Have all you need from water & food to your clothing, shelter, bedding, and medical needs (don’t forget your meds) It also means be prepared for any situation as regards to participating. Keep your mind open, read up on activities different camps are offering throughout the event, and be ready to randomly discover activities, discussions, and brand new friendships. Radical Self expression: Radical self-expression arises from the unique gifts of the individual. No one other than the individual or a collaborating group can determine its content. It is offered as a gift to others. In this spirit the giver should respect the rights and liberties of the recipient. This means the basic rule of don’t be a dick applies to the giver and the receiver. Don’t expect something not offered and don’t give what isn’t wanted. “No thank you” or “what’s in it?” Is responsible responses to anything offered. We respect allergies, preferences, and needs… more on this in the unofficial 11 th principle Consent… later Participation: Our community is committed to a radically participatory ethic. We believe that transformative change, whether in the individual or in society can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We achieve being through doing. Everyone is invited to work. Everyone is invited to play. We make the world real through actions that open the heart. This means this isn’t a show, a spectacle, or a festival where you are the audience. New or existing members are encouraged to help make the experience through volunteerism, bringing their own art, gifts, or participatory contributions.

In the Burning Man 10 principles I’m going to talk about 2 at once. Gifting and Decommodification.

This basically means we don’t do this for money or even expectation of any kind of barter or exchange… the only thing sold is ice.
Decommodification In order to preserve the spirit of gifting, our community seeks to create social environments that are unmediated by commercial sponsorships, transactions, or advertising. We stand ready to protect our culture from such exploitation. We resist the substitution of consumption for participatory experience. Gifting Burning Man is devoted to acts of gift giving. The value of a gift is unconditional. Gifting does not contemplate a return or an exchange for something of equal value.

Oh I just saw your request to see some of her pieces. These are the two I have in frames

Week end art. My art this week is rather minimal a necklace and matching earrings in stone, glass, and resin beads and some moss in wool, silk, velvet, ribbon and yarn.

Pale green velvet with felting and embroidery in greens, browns and yellows to look like moss. Will end up being an appliqué on a fae costume bodice. Two tier beaded necklace with drops and a pendent. Beads are in pale green, white, turquoise, and amber colored stones as well as crystal and uranium glass beads. The pendant is turquoise blue resin with shards of large glitter. There is a matching set of earrings and it all is UV reactive to different intensities.
