Probably wouldn't have helped. I called my mom for her recipes and was told "you know enough" and "till it looks right " as measurements lol.

Thanks for the tip about the press. I had forgotten they existed. I lived in Albuquerque for 25 years. Wasn't aware of the difference between tamales statewide. I'm curious to see which one wins 🏆
