The KKK and groups like them peddle fear and division because they know they can’t win on decency or truth. Their time has passed, and the rest of us have a responsibility to make sure it stays that way.

I grew up in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, where we were taught to look out for one another — no matter where you came from, what you looked like, or who you loved. That’s the real Kentucky I know and love: decent, hardworking people who believe in fairness, faith, and community.
